My lesson is on the different parts of the flower. We will talk about the stem, the petals, and the anther. I took a picture of a flower outside of my apartment building and I copied it into a Word Document. Then, I put diagram lines using the drawing tools that point out the three parts of the flower I just mentioned. In the classroom, we could learn about the different parts of the flower, then the students could either fill out the paper with a pencil or they could get on the computer and type in the answers. This lesson can be fun and interesting for children to learn.

This lesson gives children the opportunity to choose how they wish to complete the assignment. By doing this, the teacher can utilize the multiple intelligences by allowing a child to work on a computer or write out the answers. Also, children will be able to see a picture of a flower that is off a digital camera, rather than one found on the Internet. You could further your lesson by exploring the stem, petals, and anther and how they help in keeping the flower healthy.
This is a good way to learn about the parts of a flower. You could also have the students take pictures of flowers on their own and allow them to name the parts of the flower on their own picture. It may make things a little harder because not all flowers look the same and the parts may be more difficult to locate. By having the lines for answering on the computer, it is easy to add more lines after they learn other parts of the flower, like the stamen.
I think this is a really cute idea, especially for spring time. Another fun thing to do would be to have a lot of pictures of different flowers and have them identify the different parts, kind of like a lab set up. I really like the diagram idea!
This lesson has some really good ideas that could be used in other lesson plans. You could take pictures of realy anything and have the students label the different parts. You could have the students take the pictures and then use those same pictures on the test like Jenn M. did with her leaf lesson!
Maybe as you are learning about the parts of the flower, you could actually have a small flower garden in your classroom. Kids can plant the seeds and watch the process. It might help them remember more about parts of a flower that way. Then they could take pictures of their flowers and label them. Make it a little more personal for them. I really like your idea though and think kids would have a fun time with it.
I really like this idea! One way that you could use technology more in this lesson would be to go outside and have the children take pictures of the flowers that are around the school, their playground, and the neighboring areas. This would be more appropriate for older children with more supervision however, the children would benefit from finding a flower on their own and also from being able to leave the classroom setting. Lessons do not always have to take place indoors and children love being able to go outside during the day. This is really a great lesson though and one that children would learn a lot from.
